MINUTES
HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
May 25, 1976
The Special Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of
Santa Ana was called to order at 5:40 P.M., by Chairman Harry
K. Yamamoto, in the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza,
Santa Ana. The following members of the Authority responded
to the roll call:

The following persons were also present:
Manuel Rede, Executive Director-Secretary
Keith L. Gow, City Attorney
Bruce C. Spragg, City Manager
Florence I. Malone, Recording Secretary
Representative of the Press
Shapell Government
Housing/Goldrich,
Kest and Associates,
a joint venture,
were approved as the developer building, operating and managing
the Section 8, 200 housing units of proposed new construction
between Ross and Flower Streets and First and Third Streets
in the Redevelopment Project Area, with the intent of subsequently
entering into an Annual Contributions Contract with the Depart-
ment of Housing and Urban Development and a Housing Assistance
Payment Contract with the developer, on motion of Commissioner
Bricken, seconded by Commissioner Ortiz and carried on the
following roll call vote:

The Authority's action was based on a report from the Executive
Director, dated May 19, 1976, describing the Project and sum-
marizing the proposals received; on the recommendation of the
Community Redevelopment Commission, on May 24, 1976; and on the
action of the Community Redevelopment Agency in selecting Shapell
Government Housing, et. al., as the developer for the housing
units, on May 25, 1976.
ADJOURNMENT The meeting was
adjourned at 5:42 P.M.,
on the unanimously
approved motion of Commissioner Brandt, seconde by Commissioner
Ortiz.
