MINUTES HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALI FORNIA June 21, 1976 The Regular Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana, was called to order at 2:02 P.M., by Chairman Harry K. Yamamoto, in the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana. The following members of the Authority responded to the roll call: Present Absent John Garthe Vernon S. Evans David L. Brandt James E. Ward Harry K. Yamamoto, Gordon Bricken David F. Ortiz Chairman The following persons were also present: Manuel Rede, Executive Director-Secretary Keith L. Gow, City Attorney Bruce C. Spragg, City Manager Pat E. Rice, Acting Recording Secretary Representative of the Press The full reading of the Minutes of June 7,1976, was waived and they were approved as mailed, on motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Garthe, and unanimously carried (5-0). MINUTES A letter dated May 13, 1976, from the Santa Ana Unified School District, notifying the Housing Authority of the District's intent to sell an approximate two (2.46) acre parcel of land was received and filed on motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Garthe. BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS REPORT OF DIRECTOR On motion of Com- missioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Garthe, and carried (5-0) the following documents were received and filed: 1. The Monthly Report for the Section 23 - Leased Housing (Existing Units), indicating that 80 of the 100 authorized units were under lease as of June 1, 1976. 2. May 31, 1976, Trial Balance for the Section 23 Leased Housing Program, indicating a balance of $592,656.46. 3. The Monthly Report for the Revised Section 23 Housing Assistance Payment Program, indicating that 48 of the 50 units authorized by HUD are under lease and occupied by tenants as of June 1, 1976. '. . . . . . . MINUTES HOUSING AUTHORITY - 2- June 21, 1976 4. May 31, 1976, Trial Balance for the Section 23 Housing Assistance Payment Program (HAP), indicating a balance of $119,152.67. The Monthly Report for the Section 8 Program (Existing Units), indicating that a total of 131 units of the 150 authorized by HUD were under lease as of June 1, 1976. 5. 6. May 31, 1976, Trial Balance for the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments Program (HAP), indicating a balance of $147,669.09. The Hous ing Authority budget for the Section 23 Leased Hous ing Program in the amount of $228,110; and the Housing Authority budget for the Section 8 - Housing Assistance Payments Program in the amount of $916,615, as recommended in Peter Grams' Report dated June 15, were approved on motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Garthe and carried on the following roll call vote: AYES: NOES: Yamamoto, Garthe, Ward Evans, Brandt ABSENT: Bricken, Ortiz A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, AND NATIONAL HOUSING CONSULTANTS, INC., FOR THE SALE OF LAND FOR PRIVATE REDEVELOPMENT PURSUANT TO THE SANTA ANA COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA AND AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN TO EXECUTE THE SAME, was read by title only and full reading was waived on the unanimously approved motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Garthe and carried (5-0). The resolution was adopted by the following roll call vote on motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Garthe. UNFINISHED BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS The meeting was ad- journed at 2:17 P.M., to July 19, 1976, at 1:00 P.M., for a ground breaking ceremony for the Santa Ana Towers (Senior Citizens Housing Project) adjacent to Birch Park, on the unanimously approved motion of Commissioner Ward, ~econded by Commissioner Garthe.
