MINUTES
HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
January 24, 1978
The Regular Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of
Santa Ana was called to order at 5:00 P.M., by Chairman David
F. Ortiz, in the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza,
Santa Ana.

and Urban Development CHUD) were under lease as of January 1,
1978, was received and filed on the unanimously carried 4:0 motion
of Commissioner Garthe, seconded by Commissioner Yamamoto.

Acting on the advice of Keith Gow, Attorney for the Authority,
the written request was referred to the Housing Advisory Com-
mission for report back at the next meeting of the Authority,
on the unanimously approved 4:0 motion of Commissioner Brandt,
seconded by Commissioner Garthe.
The Attorney also stated that he would prepare a Resolution,
barring the Orange County Housing Authority from administering
the proposed program, for adoption by the City Council at its
meeting on February 6 because in his opinion the state law
requires that action.
Copies of a letter
dated January 17, 1978,
from Donald G. Phillips,
Director of the Housing
Development Division of
the Department of Housing
and Urban Development,
indicating that HUD will be accepting applications for 1,320 units
of leased Cexisting) housing in Orange County, to be received
within 30 days of January 17, were distributed to the Authority.

Acting on the recommendation of the Executive Director-Secretary,
the Authority authorized him to file an application for 300 units,
on the unanimously approved 4:0 motion of Commissioner Garthe,
seconded by Commissioner Brandt.
At 5:20 P.M., the
meeting was adjourned
on the unanimously
approved 4:0 motion of Commissioner Brandt, seconded by Commissioner
Yamamoto.
