DISCUSSION The Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services Division requires ambulance cots to assist in the transporting of patients to and from the emergency vehicle and final destination. New cots are covered by a standard, one-year warranty upon purchase. Additionally, an extended service maintenance agreement will allow for factory trained technicians to inspect the cots for unusual wear and tear, and defective parts, will provide for factory upgrades and will ensure maximum service life of the equipment. The purchase of the extended maintenance for the ambulance cots, when added to the vendor's fiscal purchases will exceed the $10,000 aggregate total, and requires Council approval.
