RESOLUTION NO. 94-8
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOP-
MENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
FINDING THAT THE AGGREGATION OF NEW OR
SUBSTANTIALLY REHABILITATED DWELLING
UNITS IN ONE OR MORE PROJECT AREAS WILL
NOT CAUSE OR EXACERBATE RACIAL, ETHNIC
OR ECONOMIC SEGREGATION
WHEREAS, the Community Redevelopment Law (California Health
and Safety Code sections 33000 et seq.) requires, in paragraph A of
section 33413 (b) (2), that at least 15 percent of all new and
substantially rehabilitated dwelling units developed within any
redevelopment project area by public or private entities or persons
other than the redevelopment agency be available at affordable
housing cost to persons and families of low or moderate income, and
that at least 50 percent of such units be available to and occupied
by very low income households; and
WHEREAS, said paragraph allows a redevelopment agency having
jurisdiction over more than one project area to aggregate such new
or substantially rehabilitated dwelling units in one or more
project areas, provided that the agency finds, based on substantial
evidence, after public hearing, that the aggregation will not
cause or exacerbate racial, ethnic, or economic segregation; and
WHEREAS, people of differing racial, ethnic and economic
backgrounds are dispersed throughout the redevelopment project
areas of the city and in the neighboring residential areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that the Agency hereby finds and
determines that the aggregation of new or substantially rehabili-
tated dwelling units in one or more project areas of the City of
Santa Ana will not cause or exacerbate racial, ethnic, or economic
segregation.
