MINUTES
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
FEBRUARY 6, 1984
The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Community Redevelopment
Agency of the City of Santa Ana was called to order by
Chairman Luxembourger at 2:00 P.M., in Room 147 of the City
Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana,
California. After the Pledge to the Flag, roll was called:

SITE
SESSION ON DEVELOPER SELECTION FOR THE WEST RESERVOIR
In response to a request from Mr. Johnson, the Deputy City
Manager stated that staff had contacted Dr. Elmer Clute,
Assistant Superintendant/Office of Business Services, to
discuss the impact of this development on the school
district. Dr. Clute stated that there is adequate space
district-wide to accommodate the increase. The Deputy City
Manager distributed copies of pertinent correspondence for
the Agency's review and stated that staff was available to
answer any questions.
Mr. Bricken stated that due to a conflict of interest he
could not participate in the developer selection.
Mr. Young stated he was glad to see such high quality
developers interested in Santa Ana and that he felt Kaufman
& Broad were best suited for the site. He stated further
that he would like to see staff work diligently with the
other two developers to determine whether or not we can get
them to invest in Santa Ana with one of our other available
sites.

In response to a request from Mr. Luxembourger, the Deputy
City Manager stated that in the future a work study session
would be scheduled before the meeting in which a full set of
plans would be available.
A motion was then made by Mrs. McGuigan and seconded by Mr. Young
and carried unanimously (6:0) to grant Kaufman and Broad
Development Group a l80-day exclusive right to negotiate for
the development of the West Reservoir site for residential
purposes.
