Subject:comment on parking issue for tonight's council meeting
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Hello-
My name is Deilah Snell. I am the owner of Alta Baja Market, a business in downtown for 9 years.
PLEASE do not raise the parking rates. All this is doing is distracting customers to our businesses (I get complaints every
time there is an event and there is "event parking") and hurts the people who own and work in these businesses.
Support your downtown that has been hurting for YEARS. Make it easy and affordable for customers to support us.
Thank you.

Hi there, I have been working in DTSA for over 10 years. I park at Fiesta. I have worked for 4 Street Market, I used to
have my own business, and now I currently work for Alta Baja Market. With all the disrup?on in DTSA, parking is the
worst. We are small businesses just trying to get by. By raising parking rates, it will deter guests, frustrate employees
and we will lose business. While I do not have a monthly pass anymore, they went from $40 to $50. And I understand
that they will go to $90/mo? For what? Crea?ng a super dangerous experience in Fiesta with Spurgeon going
through? It’s certainly not keeping the structure any safer (vandalism, drug use, etc).
Then with the events that happen down here, none of which benefit the local businesses, we have had to pay a flat rate
to park, even though we are employees (and can prove as such). And we are told that “cash is best”. Really?

Subject:City Council meeting – agenda item 16
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Dear Council-member Lopez,
I am writing to express my concern about the last-minute addition of the parking meter
rate increase to tonight’s City Council agenda. The item was placed on the agenda last
Friday afternoon, which does not allow for sufficient public notice, comment, or analysis.
Rushed decisions, especially those that impact residents financially, undermine
transparency and public trust. The community deserves a clear explanation of why this
increase is necessary, how the additional revenue will be used, and what alternatives, if
any, have been considered. At this point, none of these critical questions have been
answered.
I urge you to either oppose this measure until the public has had an opportunity to review
and weigh in on it or request that it be postponed for proper discussion. Residents should
not be blindsided by last-minute proposals that could have a direct financial impact on
them.
Please let me know your position on this issue and whether you will advocate for greater
transparency in this process.
Thank you for your time.

Re: Item #16--Don’t Raise Parking Rates
Dear Council Members,
As you all are very aware the downtown community was extremely hard hit by the COVID 19
pandemic and the closing of many of the streets in the downtown for the OC Streetcar
construction. Downtown is still not even close to recovered. Many small businesses are still shutting
th
and many of the store fronts on 4 St. are vacant along with vacancies throughout the
downtown. The last thing the downtown businesses and customers need is a price increase on
parking. Please don’t raise prices at this time but wait until the downtown is better recovered.
Thank you for your service and your consideration,
