MINUTES REGULAR MEETING COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY KAY 16, 1989 The Regular Meeting of the Community Redevelopment Agency was called to order at 5:30 p.m. for a Study Session in Room 831 of City Hall, 20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California. The Study Session was regarding the Bowers Museum Expansion. Introductions were made, and Cynthia Nelson introduced Roger Torreiro, representing the Bowers Board of Governors, to provide an overview of the status of efforts to date on the Bowers expansion. A brief question and answer period followed. The Study Session was adjourned to the Council Chambers for the Redevelopment Agency Business Session. The Agency Members arrived in the Council Chambers at 6:26 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given followed by the roll call: mmn mm John Acosta, Vice Chairman Daniel H, Griset Ron May Patricia McGuigan Miguel A. Nelson, Executive Director/Community Development Robert Hoffman, Redevelopment & Real Estate Manager Richard I.sy, Assistant City Attorney Josie I.sQuay, Project Manager John Reeks tin , Assistant Grants Coordinator Roger Torriero, Bowers Museum Board of Directors Vera Harrison, Secretary Agency ~ It was moved by Agency Member McGuigan, seconded by Agency Member Pulido and carried unanimously (5:0) to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Apri118, 1989. Agency Member Norton arrived at 6;30 p.m. . . . BOWERS MUSEUM EXPANSION On a motion by Agency Member May, which was seconded by Agency Member Pulido and carried unanimously (6:0) it wss approved to continue the two items regarding the Bowers Museum Expansion and the Design and Construction Management Services for Bowers Museum Expansion to the next scheduled Agency meeting, June 20, 1989. Agency Member May left the Council Chambers at 6:31 p.m. AGREEMENT WITH HOPKINS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION FOR TRAFFIC SIGNALIZATION AT HARBOR BOULEVARD AND MCFADDEN AVENUE It was moved by Agency Member McGuigan, seconded by Agency Member Pulido and carried unanimously (5:0) that the Redevelopment Agency direct the Agency Attorney to prepare and authorize the Chairman and Executive Director to execute a contract with Hopkins Development Corporation providing for the Agency to reimburse Hopkins for traffic signalization at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and McFadden Avenue in the amount of $40,000. Agency Member Griset left the Council Chambers at 6:32 p.m. AGENCY SECRETARY REPORT It was moved by Agency Member Pulido, seconded by Agency Member McGuigan and carried unanimously (4:0) that the Redevelopment Agency instruct the Agency Secretary to enter into the Minutes: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, the Agenda for the April 18, 1989 Regular Meeting of the Community Redevelopment Agency was posted on the door of the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, at 11 s.m. on April 14, 1989. CLOSED SESSION The meeting adjourned to Closed Session in Room 147 of the Council Chambers at 6:32 p.m. The Agency Secretary read the following: "The Legal Counsel requests that the Redevelopment Agency recess to Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(A) to confer with its attorney regarding pending litigation which has been initiated formally, and to which the Redevelopment Agency is a party." The title of the litigation is: Communi tv Redevelonment AJencv vs et a1. DeCrona The Agency Members returned to the Council Chambers at 6:48 p.m. -2- . . . REPORT FROM CLOSED SESSION It was moved by Agency Member McGuigan, seconded by Agency Member Pulido and carried unanimously (4:0) that the Redevelopment Agency approve the following settlement: $2.5 million for property value $5,698.75 for litigation expenses Agency Member Norton asked a question regarding the litigation on the Harbor and McFadden site. Edward Cooper, City Attorney, stated that he will contacted regarding this issue.
