HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-15-1981MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA October 15, 1981 At 3:34 p.m., the adjourned regular meeting of the Santa Ana City Council was called to order by Mayor Bricken in the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers present were John Acosta, Daniel E. Griset, R. W. Luxembourger, J. Ogden Markel, Patricia A. McGuigan, Alfred C. Serrato, and Mayor Gordon Bricken. Also present were City Manager A. J. Wilson, City Attorney Edward J. Cooper, and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. INVOCATION PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was given by Coun¢ilmember Luxembourger. The Council recessed at 4:13 p.m., and reconvened at 4:23 p.m., with all members present. The Council then proceeded to vote by individual paper ballot for the cable firm with which the City Manager would be authorized to begin negotiations for a City Cable TV franchise. Votes from the first round were tallied as follows: Acosta Bricken Griset Luxembourger Markel McGuigan Serrato Teleprompter Teleprompter Teleprompter Teleprompter California Cablesystems California Cablesystems Teleprompter MOTION was made by Luxembourger, seconded by Acosta, to receive and file the ballots. Motion passed on the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Acosta, Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Markel, McGuigan, Serrato None None Using the same method, the Council then voted for a second place firm. Motion passed on the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Acosta, Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Markel, McGuigan, Serrato None None Councilmember Griset noted that the Council had not awarded a Cable TV franchise for the City of Santa Ana, but had selected the Cable TV firm and runner-up for negotiations with the City Manager.
