RESOLUTION NO. 2005-034
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL DEFERRED
COMPENSATION FOR THE CLERK OF THE COUNCIL
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines
and declares as follows:
A.
On December 6, 1999, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution
No. 99-078 providing for the compensation and employee benefits for the
Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana.
B.
On January 16, 2000, the City Council appointed Patricia Healy to the
position of Clerk of the Council, an unrepresented Executive Management
position, at salary rate range step EM28-9.
C.
On April 7, 2003, the City Council increased the salary of the Clerk of the
Council by 2.5% to salary rate range EM28-10.
D.
The City Council desires to amend the City's contribution to deferred
compensation for the Clerk of the Council without altering any other
compensation provisions applicable to the position under the Executive
Management Compensation Plan.
Section 2: Deferred Compensation. Said Officer shall receive from the City
each calendar year commencing with 2005, as additional compensation pursuant to
Government Code section 53214, $2,500 toward deferred compensation pursuant to
section 457 of the Internal Revenue Code. During calendar year 2006 and 2007 an
additional compensation of the $2,500 will be provided each year. The contribution for
each subsequent year will be $5,000 for calendar year 2006, and $7,500 for calendar
year 2007 and each year thereafter.
Section 3: Except as expressly provided herein, all other compensation
provisions applicable to the Clerk of the Council shall continue in full force and effect.
Section 4: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by
the City Council and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting
this Resolution.
