OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA Ah]A, CALIFORNIA
December 21, 1983
The meeting was called to order at 5:44 p.m., by Mayor R. W. Luxembourger,
in the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers
present were Daniel E. Griset, P. Lee Johnson, Patricia A. McGuigan, Dan
Young, and Mayor Luxembourger. Also present were Interim City Manager Rex
Swanson, City Attorney Edward J. Cooper and Clerk of the Council Janice
C. Guy. Councilmenbers John Acosta and Gordon Bricken were absent.
EXMCUT1-VE SESSION
The Council recessed to Executive Session at 5:45 p.m., and reconvened at
5:50 p.m. with the same members present.
APPOINI~NT OF CITY MAk%GER
MOTION:
Appoint Robert C. Bobb to the office of City Manager of
the City of Santa Ana, effective February 6, 1984, and
instruct the City Attorney to prepare a resolution
setting forth the terms and conditions of employment
for adoption bythe City Council at its regularly scheduled
meeting of January 3, 1984.
MOTION: Young SECOND: Johnson
The City Attorney reported that Councilmember Acosta had telephoned him
that day and explained he was unable to attend the meeting but authorized
the City Attorney to convey his support of the motion and appointment of
Robert C. Bobb as City Manager, as had been previously discussed in
Executive Session.
The City Attorney further explained that Councilmember Gordon Bricken was
absent due to illness and that he, too, supported the appointment based on
the terms and conditions as had been discussed in earlier Executive
Sessions.
