In order to do so, a contract for annual asphalt street maintenance operations is required. Contract services include the excavation and cold milling of existing roadways, the installation of pavement reinforcement fabric, construction of asphalt concrete pavement, and crack sealing. On April 5, 2004 the City Council awarded a contract to Hardy & Harper, Inc., a Santa Ana vendor, for a one-year period. The vendor has performed satisfactorily during the past contract period and has agreed to renew the contract without an increase in pricing. Staff recommends the renewal of the contract. FISCAL IMPACT Funds are available in the Public Works Road Maintenance Other Contract Services account (account no. 11-631-6291).
