C Y MANAGER CONTINUED TO -- FILE NUMBER RECOMMENDED ACTION Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to renew the agreement with Adlerhorst International, Inc. for specialized canine training and equipment replacement services for a one-year period in an amount not to exceed $39,400. DISCUSSION Adlerhorst International, Inc. has been the City's exclusive provider and trainer of police service dogs since 1982. Adlerhorst International is a nationally recognized company known for its experience and expertise in the selection, testing, and training of police service dogs. The Police Department currently has five police service dogs that were purchased from and trained by Adlerhorst. Staff recommends the renewal of the agreement for consistency and efficiency in the operations of the canine unit.
