FOR THE PROVISION OF SUPPORT SERVICES FOR THE ( (\I':'
GED TESTING PROGRAM BETWEEN THE
ORANGE COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
AND THE CITY OF SANTA
JJ THIS FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT is made and entered into this
}1 IlL day of 5 f' 'pI. , 1999, by and between the City of Santa Ana, a
charter city and municipal corporation of the State of California, (CITY) and THE
Orange County Superintendent of Schools (SUPERINTENDENT).
WITNESSETH
RECITALS:
1. CITY and Superintendent entered into an agreement dated August 1, 1997,
("AGREEMENT") which allowed SUPERINTENDENT access to inmates in order
to administer GED testing.
2. In accordance with the terms and conditions of the AGREEMENT, CITY and
SUPERINTENDENT wish to renew the AGREEMENT for an additional one year
period, in conformance with paragraph 1.0 (Term) of the AGREEMENT.
WHEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual and respective covenants and
promises contained in the AGREEMENT, and subject to all of the terms and conditions
of the AGREEMENT, except those amended in this FIRST AMENDMENT TO
AGREEMENT, CITY and SUPERINTENDENT hereby agree to amend paragraph 1 of
the AGREEMENT and extend the AGREEMENT for one additional year (August 1,
1998 to July 31, 1999.) Paragraph 1, as amended shall read, as follows:
1.0 Term
This MOU shall be effective for a period of one (1) year, commencing
August 1, 1998 and continuing through July 31, 1999, and may be renewed
on an annual basis for a period of three (3) additional years from the
effective date, unless sooner terminated by any of the parties in accordance
with Section 12.0.
All other terms and conditions shall remain unchanged.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the CITY and Superintendent have executed this
FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT on the day and year first herein above set
forth.
