RECOMMENDED ACTION
Award a contract to Grainger for the purchase of miscellaneous supplies
based upon the Western State's Contracting Alliance (WSCA) contract for a
two-year period with provision for three one-year renewals, in the annual
amount not to exceed $30,000.
DISCUSSION
The City establishes an annual blanket order list consisting of vendors
that provide supplies and services that are required by agencies on a
consistent basis. Grainger provides hand tools, welding supplies, ladders
and a variety of sundry supplies to all City agencies as needed.
Santa Ana City Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizes the City to purchase
against contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid
process. The Grainger contract for the purchase of miscellaneous supplies
was awarded as a result of open, competitive bidding, and meets the City's
requirements.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the various departmental Operating Materials &
Supplies accounts (object code 6391) .
