PUBLIC COMMENTS
Miles Leach, 2025 W. Tenth Street, reported he had received additional statistics regarding
traffic in the Northwest Neighborhood and requested the City Council consider the impacts of
increased traffic on Bristol and Seventeenth Streets before closing additional streets. He also
pointed out the increasing difficulty of disposing of hazardous waste and urged that hazardous
waste be controlled in the most inexpensive way possible.

Louis Anderson, 2114 N. Tamy Lane, urged the City Council not to approve the proposed
Floral Park Committee Traffic Plan indicating any reduction in traffic in the Floral Park area
was at the expense of another neighborhood and the taxpayers. He also expressed the
opinion that the traffic pattern proposed for the area adjacent to Santiago Elementary School
was unsafe.

The Clerk of the Council announced the City Council was recessing to Closed Session
pursuant to:
Government Code Section 54956.9(a) to confer with the City Attorney regarding pending
litigation which had been initiated formally and to which the City was a party, to wit:

The City Manager introduced Ron Glaser, the new Director for the Santa Ana Zoo.

90.C. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS
Councilmember Norton requested the City consider acquisition of a new American Flag for
City Hall as a Christmas present to the City.
At Councilmember Acosta's request, Community Development Agency Executive Director
Cindy Nelson informed the listening public that two additional meetings were scheduled
concerning the proposed Floral Park Traffic Plan, one on December 17 and the second on
December 18, 1991, both beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Santiago Elementary School.
Councilmember Griset requested staff meet with telephone company representatives regarding
the provision of cable television services by the telephone companies and report on the matter
at the January 6 Council meeting.
Councilmember Richardson requested that staff work with Sears regarding cleanup of its
property on south Main Street, which he reported was in disrepair. He also requested that
staff investigate scheduling court referral workers to clean up trash in the downtown on
Saturdays and Sundays.
Mayor Pro Tern Pulido expressed his support for both Councilmember Griset's and
Councilmember Richardson's requests to staff. On behalf of the City Council, Mayor Pro
Tem Pulido wished everyone a "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
