RECOMMENDED ACTION
Renew the contract with prudential Overall Supply for uniform, mat and
towel service for a three-year period in an annual amount not to exceed
$70,000.
DISCUSSION
In accordance with the City's general employee Memorandum of Understanding,
clean uniforms are provided to all employees who are required by the City
to wear uniforms. Rented floor mats are at various locations, and
dishtowels at all fire stations. The rental service includes weekly
laundering of the uniforms and dishtowels.
On May 19, 2003, the City Council awarded a contract to prudential Overall
Supply for a three-year period, with provision for one three-year renewal.
The vendor has performed satisfactorily during the past contract period and
has agreed to renew the contract without an increase in pricing. Staf f
recommends the renewal of the contract.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the various departmental Operating Materials &
Supplies accounts (object code 6391) .
