The contract documents require upgrade of the traffic signal system in
the downtown area by providing installation of traffic communication
infrastructure and replacement of outdated equipment, including
cabinets and signal controllers. During construction, the actual
quantity of conduits, loops, and cables to be installed was found to be
more than the estimated quantity for the project. In addition, video
detection system cables and conduits for future project need to be
installed.
Estimated cost = $72,000
The Council's approval is required to cover the extra costs exceeding
the project contingency.
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost for the change order is estimate at $72,000. Funds are
available in the Transportation System Improvement Area F Fund (account
no. 35-631-6631).
