FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE (UASI)
THIS FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT is entered into o~v; \ 2 ')
_, 200;:" by and between the City of Irvine, acting through the Irvine Po ice
Department ("Subgrantee") and the City of Santa Ana ("City"),
Recitals:
A, The parties entered into Agreement A-22_0j-176-11 ,dated February 22, 2005
(hereinafter "said Agreement") by which City, in its capacity as the Core City for the
Santa Ana Urban Area under the FY04 Urban Area Security Initiative (hereinafter
"UASI"), transferred UASI Grant Funds to Subgrantee to train and prepare
Subgrantee's employees for Emergency Preparedness,
B, In accordance with the terms and conditions of said Agreement, the parties wish to
amend said Agreement to provide additional grant purposes which may be
reimbursed by UASI Funds,
Wherefore, in consideration of the covenants contained in said Agreement, and subject
to all the terms and conditions of said Agreement, except those amended in this First
Amendment to Agreement, the parties agree as follows:
I. Section I of said Agreement shall be deleted in its entirety and replaced with the
following:
"City may transfer to SUBGRANTEE, reimbursement to train members of
SUBGRANTEE in accordance with grant guidelines as outlined in Attachment A to
said Agreement. Other expenditures of SUBGRANTEE which comply with the
guidelines of the Homeland Security Department regarding expenditure ofUASI
Grant Funds, including additional staffing costs during heightened security alerts,
may be reimbursed by City upon the prior written approval of the Chief of Police of
City."
2, Section 5 of said Agreement shall be deleted in its entirety and replaced with the
following:
"SUBGRANTEE has been allocated $32,817,00 for training and emergency staffing
costs under the provisions of this agreement and guidelines outlined in attachment A"
3, Except as hereinabove amended, all terms and conditions of said Agreement shall
remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this First Amendment to
Agreement on the date and year first written above.
