MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
SUBJECT: Housing agreement between the Santa An. Police Department JaR Bur...... ...-.J the
CeUfomia Youth Autl'lority.
The Santa Ana Police Department Jail Bureau agrees to house CalWomia Youth Authority parol""s
anwtod in Orange County (Our Hold On~-WIC , 767 .3) for 1I1e Slat.. of Califcmia beginning January 5,
2001. Such "rT8!I18"s shell be housed in lI1e Santa Ana Jail. This agreement is bssad upon the
following cond~ions:
1. The D"I'artment of the CllI~ornia Youth A,U1hori!y (CY A) agrees 10 compensata the City of
santa Ana for the costs of housing of state pa!'Qlees at the daily jail rate for ~"""I year
2ooo1W01. currently at $77.00 a day.
2. Tha City of Santa Ana Police Dapartment Jaii 8ureau. a9"'.0 to provide CYA a monlhiy
invoica in compliance wm., the Dally JaM Rate Manus) by tha 10" of each rngnth. TM bill is due
and payable at lhe time """,;ved and is past due 30 days after receipt.
3. The CYA agrees to reimburse the City of San.. Ana, separate fi'ilm the Daily Jail Rate. for

4. If. CY A parolee davalops madlc:al problems aner bool<1ng that requiras madical saM_ not
available in the Santa Ana Jail, CY A will immediately dispakh a Parole Agant 10 the Santa Ana
Jaij fer Transportation and necessElI)' guard .serviceti. If emergency treetment is necessary,
City shall transport the parolee for immediata madi<:al treatment and prcwida guard servicea
pending the arriVal of a Parole Agent. All such emergency transportation end medical charges
shan be borne byeYA,
6. The CY A agrees 10 pick up and transport these parolee. to tha California YoUIh Authority on a
waak1y basi..

The City of Santa Ana's request far Fiscal Year (FY) 2000/01 daily jail rate (DJR) fer claims
submitted under Penal Code Section 4016.5 and Welfare ..nd Institutions Code Section 1776 h....
been reviawed. Approved rates are COntingent upon ,"udit and resolution as desaibed in Chapter
V, Section J, of the DJR Manual for i=Y 2000/01. We are approvil1g the fClllowing DJR(S) far

The City of Santa c:/jd not have an approved DJR for FY 1998199 therefore the Prior Rete

of the DJR Manual for FY 2000/01) must be completed for reimbursement of dl!tention costs.

The housing agreement refers to an original agreement entered on 01/05/2001 What is the number of
that agreement and do you have an original/copy of the that agreement?
