RECOMMENDED ACTION
Renew the contract with Pacific Typewriter & Communications, Inc. for
maintenance service on typewriters and facsimile machines, including
supplies, for a one-year period in the annual amount not to exceed $25,000.
DISCUSSION
The City of Santa Ana utilizes typewriters and facsimile machines
throughout the organization to facilitate daily operations. A contract
agreement providing on-call and preventative maintenance is essential for
maximum efficiency.
On November 3, 2003, the City Council awarded a contract to Pacific
Typewriter & Communications, Inc., for a two-year period with provision for
three, one-year renewals. The vendor has performed satisfactorily during
the past contract period and has agreed to renew the contract without an
increase in pricing. Staff recommends the second renewal of the contract.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the various departmental Other Contractual Services
accounts (object code 6291)
