September 25, 2006
CALL TO ORDER
Due to the lack of a quorum, an information-only meeting was held in City Hall, 20 Civic
Center Plaza, 8th floor conference room, Santa Ana, California.
ATTENDANCE
Councilmembers present: Alberta Christy. Councilmembers Claudia Alvarez and Carlos
Bustamante absent.
Staff present: Assistant City Attorney Paula Coleman, Police Chief Paul Walters, Fire
Chief Phil Garcia, Fire Marshal Lori Smith, Jeff Talmage and Ben Gonzales of the Fire
Department
SUMMARY OF DISCUSSIONS
1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Approval of Minutes of the July 10, 2006 meeting was deferred until the next
scheduled meeting.
2. PARAMEDIC REVIEW
Fire Chief Garcia introduced Jeff Talmage and Ben Gonzales who reviewed the
history of the Santa Ana Paramedic Program.
3. FIREWORKS ORDINANCE REPORT
ACA Paula Coleman reviewed other cities' time restrictions on fireworks relating
to times of sales.
4. PUBLIC COMMENTS
No public comments.
