Authorize the City Manager to accept the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant FY 2006 in the amount of $93,948. 2. Approve an Appropriation Adjustment recognizing the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant FY 2006 funds, a transfer of 3n $23,486 in required "cash match" and appropriate the same into the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant FY 2006 grant expenditure account. DISCUSSION The Santa Ana Fire Department through the Department of Homeland Security, Emergency Preparedness and Response Directorate (FEMA) has been awarded a grant from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant FY 2006 grant program in the amount of $93,948. The grant requires a 20o cash match ($23,486) for grand total of $117,434. The purpose of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program is to protect the health and safety of the public and firefighting personnel against fire and fire-related hazards. The grant funds are being used to continue the Santa Ana Fire Department's efforts in completing the purchase of diesel exhaust removal systems for our fire stations. 20A-1 FEMA Assistance August 6, 2007 Page 2 FISCAL IMPACT to Firefighters Grant FY 2006 Approval of the Appropriation Adjustment will increase revenues in the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant FY 2006 revenue account (account no. 146-O1-5350-8) by $117,434, and appropriate same into the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant FY 2006 Capital Equipment expenditure account (account no. 146-335-6641).
