Renew the contract with Irvine Pipe & Supply, Inc., for miscellaneous
plumbing supplies for a one-year period in an annual amount not to exceed
$75,000.
DISCUSSION
The City maintains in excess of 50 buildings, including fire stations,
recreation and senior centers, libraries and park restrooms, as well as
City Hall, the Police Administration and Holding facility, and the
Corporate Yard. Plumbing supplies such as pipes, valves, bushings and
tools are used extensively in the maintenance of these facilities. The
contract will ensure that all necessary materials are available when
required.
On November 20, 2006, the City Council awarded a contract to Irvine Pipe &
Supply, Inc., a Santa Ana vendor, for a one-year period with provision for
four, one-year renewals. The vendor has performed satisfactorily during
the past contract period and has agreed to renew the contract without an
increase in pricing. Staff recommends the first renewal of the contract.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the various departmental Operating Materials &
Supplies account (object code 6391).
