Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost of $224,000. DISCUSSION Comprehensive maintenance on the exterior of the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center has not been performed since the construction of the facility in 1984. This has caused the exterior of the building to be weathered and cracked. This project provides for painting the building exterior which will enhance the facility appearance. The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on January 28 and 30, 2008, and bids were opened on February 14, 2008. A summary of the bid invitations mailed, the bids received, and the bid results are as follows. CITY BID AMOUNT Santa Clarita $160,000 Wilmington $190,000 Huntington Beach $239,000 Northridge $320,000 A total of five bids were received and four were responsive. Lockwood Painting Company did not comply with the bidding documents by failing to submit a bid bond, thereby making the bid non-responsive. The lowest bid was submitted by Everlast Painting Company for $160,000, which is below the Engineer's estimate of $170,000. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT An Environmental Review No. 2008-36 has been completed and a categorical will be filled for the project pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act. FISCAL IMPACT The funding analysis shows a total estimated construction cost of $224,000 for the project (Exhibit 2). Funds are available in the Select Street Construction Fund (account no. 59-551-6631).
