APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS - ASIAN COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION REPRESENTATIVE Motion: Appoint Mr. Sundaram Rama to the Santa Ana Empowerment Corporation Board of Directors as the representative from the Santa Ana based Asian Community Organization. AUDITOR CONTRACT AMENDMENT Motion: Direct Counsel to prepare and authorize the Executive Director to execute an amendment to the agreement with Moreland & Associates, Inc. to reflect its merger with Macias Gini & O'Connell LLP, for auditing and tax preparation services to the Santa Ana Empowerment Corporation. Community Validation - Members of the Sustainability Design Team along with the Vision Works Consultants will present a Sustainability Design Proposal to the SAEC Board and community for review and discussion. Highlights of the presentation are as follows: . History of the Santa Ana Empowerment Corporation (SAEC) and discussion of its endeavors . Discussion of the mission, goals, and impacts for the SAEC . Ad Hoc Design Team commented on the design process for the SAEC . Recommendations given for the organization given . Major themes expresses for a sustainable model; review and validation from the community necessary before final draft is presented to the SAEC Board for approval. STAFF MEMBER COMMENTS Deborah Sanchez, Empowerment Zone Manager, updated the Board on the various activities within the preview of the Federal Empowerment Zone: Expansion request of the developable site is still under review by HUD & FEZ staff is participating with the planning of a Spanish language business symposium called "La Feria" which will be held on June 14th at Santa Ana College. 8.
