WORK STUDY SESSION
SAEC Board Members and community leaders discussed and collaborated on the
future of the corporation, its values, mission and vision, as it plans to continue operating
beyond its designation period as an Empowerment Zone which is scheduled to expire in
December, 2009.
Highlights of this work study session are as follows:
. Review of the SAEC history, opportunity and constraints
. Community needs were identified and discussed
. Key opportunities identified and discussed

· Empowerment members collaborated on various ideas regarding the
desired future impacts of the SAEC
· Identified strategic highlights for mission, goals and impacts, values and/or
mottos, and sustainability of SAEC
· Discussion of use of stated recommendations along with other data and
inputs to draft plans for continuing the SAEC. The draft plans are to be
shared throughout the Santa Ana community for feedback, with the final
feedback incorporated into a final document.
· The SAEC board will make a final recommendation as to how to proceed,
which will then be presented to the City of Santa Ana Council for approval
and endorsement.
