The Board of ~stration, State 8ap].oyres~ Retirement System, hereinafter
referred to as Hoard, anti the C1TY CECIL of the CITY C~' SANTA ANA, hereinafter
referred to as Public Agency, having entered into a oontract tinder date of
November 25, 196, effective July 1, 1947, and as amended effective October I,
1951, February 1, 1954s September 1, 1956 ar~d July 1, 1959 which provides for
participation of Public Agcy in said System, Board and Public Agency hereby
agree as fol3a+rs:
A. The following phrase is added to the sentence which constitutes
Paragraph Number I of said agreements
'except such as apply only on election of a contracting
agency and ors not provided for herein and to all amend
manta to said Law herea!'ter enacted except such as by ex•
press provisions thereof apply only on the election of
contracting ageracies.m
B. Paragraphs 3 through lb are hereby stricken Pram said contract as
executed effective July 1, 1947, ar~d as amended effective October
1, 1951, February 1, 1954, September 1, 1956 and Ju],y 1, 1959, and
are hereby replaced by the following paragraphs numbered 3 through
10 inclusives
3. Raplvyees of Public agency in the following classes and groups
shall become members of said Retirement System except such in
each such class and group as are excluded by law or this agree~•
meat:
a. Local Firemen (herein referred to as Ioca1 safety members);
b. Loea1 Policemen (herein referred to as Local safety members);
c. Baployaes other than local safety members (herein referred
to as miscellaneous members).
In ad~zition to the employees exclude frcan membership by said
Retirement Law, the following employees shall. not became m~m-
bers of the Retirement Systems

9/HEREAB~ the Board of Administration of the State Employees'
Retirement System and the City Council o! the City of Santa Ana entered
into a contract effective July 1~ 1947 providing for the participation
of said City of Santa Ana in the State Emplvyee$~ Retirement System; and
ipHEREA$i on July S~ 1960 the City Gvuncil of the City of Santa Ana
passed and adopted a Resolution declaring its intentions to amend said
contract to provide for a monthly allov~ance to be paid to certain eligible
aaurviore of a member who dies before retirement.
H0~- THEREFQRE BE IT RE$DLVED~ that said City Council authorize and
it does hereby authorizes an amendment to said contract a cagy vt said
amendment being attached hereto marked "Exhibit A~" and by this reference
made a part hereot~ and
BB IT FURTHER RE80LVED~ that the presiding officer of said City
Council bey and he is hereby authorized empowered, and directed to
execute said Amendment for and on behalf of ,paid City of Santa Ana.

at ita regular meeting held on the day of ~ 196C-.
