RECOMMENDED ACTION
Renew the contract to West Coast Equipment, Inc. for street sweeper rewrap service for aone-
year period in the annual amount not to exceed $61,000.
DISCUSSION ~I
The Fleet Maintenance Division of the Finance and Management Services Agency is responsible
for the maintenance and repair of 11 street sweepers used by the Public Works Agency. The
street sweepers clean over 60,000 miles of city streets annually. The brooms on the sweepers
require monthly rewrapping to maintain effectiveness.
On April 6, 2009, the City Council awarded a contract to West Coast Equipment, Inc. for aone-
year period with provisions for two one-year renewals. The vendor has performed satisfactorily
during the past contract period and has agreed to renew the contract without an increase in
pricing. Staff recommends the first renewal of the contract.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Equipment Maintenance Garage Operation account (no. 07510100
63001).
