Dear Santa Ana City Council, Please accept this letter in support of the renewal of the Santa Ana Tourism Marketing District (SATMD). As a Santa Ana Tourism Marketing District hotelier, I have seen firsthand the positive impact Travel Santa Ana has had on the City of Santa Ana over the past four years. These accomplishments include: • Developing strategic sales efforts that support the hotels by driving increased group and leisure business. • Executing inclusive, strategic marketing efforts that promote the city's assets and uniqueness. • Developing a brand for the destination that encompasses Santa Ana's diversity. • Establishing a Marketing Advisory Group to create synergy among Santa Ana marketers. • Curating a Public Art Guide featuring more than 200 murals throughout the city. • Creating the "Santa Ana Enthusiast" ambassador program. Travel Santa Ana's strategic sales and marketing efforts continue to elevate the perception of our city, attracting visitors to our hotels, restaurants, attractions, retail businesses, and events. An estimated 90% of DMOs operate under 10-year agreements, and Travel Santa Ana should be no exception. The organization has proven invaluable in supporting hoteliers and the local tourism industry and should be allowed to continue its efforts without operational disruption. Additionally, the proposed incremental increase would allow Travel Santa Ana with the flexibility to address specific challenges—such as recovering from a downturn in tourism—or to expand marketing efforts into new or underserved markets, while adapting strategies to enhance destination competitiveness and further bolster the local economy. For these reasons, I strongly urge the Santa Ana City Council to approve the renewal of the SATMD and support the continued success of Travel Santa Ana. The organization has demonstrated its commitment to enhancing the city's visibility, economic vitality, and cultural vibrancy. With the renewal and proposed funding structure, Travel Santa Ana will be well-positioned to build on its accomplishments and further contribute to the prosperity of our community. Thank you for your consideration. Dear Santa Ana City Council, I am writing in strong support of the renewal of the Santa Ana Tourism Marketing District (SATMD). As a proud member of the Travel Santa Ana Marketing Advisory Group, I've seen firsthand the positive impact this destination marketing organization (DMO) has made in our community. Through thoughtful strategy and strong partnerships, Travel Santa Ana continues to elevate our city's profile and support its economic and cultural growth. The Marketing Advisory Group was created to foster alignment and collaboration among Santa Ana's key marketing stakeholders. By exchanging insights—such as demographic research, event calendars, and major community updates—we've built valuable relationships that have led to meaningful cross-promotions and partnerships. At MainPlace Mall, these relationships have had a tangible impact. Through connections developed within the Advisory Group, we've successfully collaborated with neighboring institutions like the Santa Ana Zoo and the Bowers Museum. These partnerships have enriched our event programming and created deeper, more meaningful community engagement—opportunities that came directly from the trusted relationships nurtured through Travel Santa Ana. The DMO's marketing and sales efforts have not only attracted more visitors to Santa Ana but also supported local attractions, restaurants, retail centers, and hotels. Travel Santa Ana has helped shape a more dynamic and visible identity for our city. With an estimated 90% of DMOs operating under 10-year agreements, Travel Santa Ana should be empowered to do the same. The proposed incremental increase in funding will provide flexibility to adjust to evolving challenges and opportunities—such as addressing dips in tourism or expanding outreach into new markets— without compromising momentum. For these reasons, I respectfully urge the City Council to approve the renewal of the SATMD. Doing so will ensure that Travel Santa Ana can continue to champion the city's success, amplify its strengths, and build on the progress already achieved. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Daniela Valencia Marketing Director 1 MainPlace Mall CENTENNIAL COLLECTION NOTICE:This message is intended only forth e personal and confidential use of the designated recipient(s)named above. If you are not the intended recipient of this message you are hereby notified that any review, dissemination, distribution or copying of this message is strictly prohibited. This communication is for information purposes only and should not be regarded as an offer to sell or lease,or as a solicitation of an offer to buy any financial product,an official confirmation of any transaction,or as an official statement of Centennial Real Estate.or its affiliates.Email transmission cannot be guaranteed to be secure or error-free.Therefore,we do not represent that this information is complete or accurate and it should not be relied upon as such. All information is subject to change without notice. This message may contain information that is privileged, confidential, legally privileged,and/or exempt from disclosure under applicable law. 2 Zuniga, Diana From: Ryan Chase < Sent: Wednesday, June 25, 2025 6:45 PM To: eComment Subject: letter in support of the renewal of the Santa Ana Tourism Marketing District (SATMD) Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana.Use caution when opening attachments or links. Best regards, Steve Churm Steve Churm, Principal CHURM|360 LLC 1 CHURM|360 July 1, 2025 Dear Members of the Santa Ana City Council, My name is Steve Churm, principal and founder of Churm360, LLC, and a strong advocate for the City of Santa Ana’s bright future in the heart of Orange County. This City is one of the most important and diverse in the region and it is a leading center of commerce, government and culture. It is also a magnet for tourists who are drawn here because of the City’s rich 154-year history and highly desirable offerings, including museums, year round special events, unique retail and acclaimed dining. In four short years, Travel Santa Ana has become a force mul?plier in a?rac?ng business, leisure, mee?ngs, sports and group travel to the City. Centrally located and easy to access by car, train and air, Santa Ana has tremendous poten?al to grow as a travel and visitor market. With that growth will come sorely needed sales tax revenue for a City facing serious fiscal issues before the end of this decade. Because of smart and focused leadership, Travel Santa Ana has already:  Developed a brand for the City that reflects Santa Ana’s diversity.  Executed inclusive, strategic marke?ng to promote the City’s assets and uniqueness.  Established a Marke?ng Advisory Group to create synergy and unify promo?onal efforts among the City’s leading stakeholders, community leaders and marke?ng groups.  Curated a Public Art Guide spotligh?ng more than 200 murals from across the City.  Supported local restaurants through key partnerships.  Created the “Santa Ana Enthusiast” ambassador program. For these reasons, I strongly urge the City Council to approve the renewal of the Santa Ana Tourism Marke?ng District (SATMD) and support the con?nued success of Travel Santa Ana. The organiza?on has repeatedly demonstrated its commitment to enhancing the City’s visibility, economic vitality and cultural vibrancy. With the renewal and proposed funding structure, Travel Santa Ana will be well-posi?oned to build on its accomplishments and con?nue contribu?ng to the prosperity of this dynamic community.
