Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 13 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />April 21, 2026 <br />TOPIC: Lease Agreement for Office Space at the Santa Ana Regional Transportation <br />Center <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Appropriation Adjustment and Lease Agreement with Aldridge Electric, Inc. for Office <br />Space at the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center (Non -General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />1. Authorize the City Manager to execute a lease agreement with Aldridge Electric, <br />Inc., to compensate the City $8,011 per month, for the lease of 2,370 square feet <br />of office space located at the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center for a <br />term beginning April 21, 2026 and expiring December 31, 2026, for a lease <br />agreement amount of $66,768, with provisions for up to twelve, one -month <br />extensions, for a total lease agreement amount of $165,780 (Agreement No. A- <br />2026-XXX). <br />2. Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing Fiscal Year 2025-26 lease <br />income in the amount of $18,702 into the SARTC Operations, Rental -Aldridge <br />Electric revenue account and appropriate the same amount into the SARTC <br />Operations, Contractual Services expenditure account. (Requires five affirmative <br />votes) <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: Yes <br />DISCUSSION <br />Aldridge Electric, a contractor on the OC Streetcar project, has leased office space at <br />the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center (SARTC) since February 2019 and is <br />requesting to continue leasing approximately 2,370 square feet of office space from the <br />City through December 31, 2026. Under the previous lease, which expired on February <br />19, 2026, Aldridge Electric paid $2.72 per square foot and is currently holding over on a <br />month -to -month basis. The proposed lease agreement reflects an increase to the <br />current market rate of $3.38 per square foot for an eight -month term beginning April 21, <br />2026 through December 31, 2026, for a total monthly rate of $8,011. The lease will <br />include up to 12 optional one -month extensions, with the monthly rate increasing to <br />$8,251 during any extension period (Exhibit 1). <br />
