Sheldon, #339 Approved By: <br />Date of Report: 11/09/20 Date: 11/17/20 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CASE NAME: ) <br />CLASSIFICATION: CUSTODIAL RELATED DEATH <br />TYPE: HOSPITAL SCENE <br />AGENCY: SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> On Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at approximately 0300 hours, Orange County District <br />Attorney (OCDA) Supervising Investigator STAN BERRY contacted me regarding the custodial <br />related death of , involving the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD). BERRY <br />requested I respond to the Santa Ana Police Department to assist with the investigation. <br /> At approximately 0435 hours, I arrived at SAPD and met with investigators from the <br />OCDA, SAPD, and the Orange County Crime Lab (OCCL), who were present to assist in the <br />investigation. <br />At approximately 0547 hours, SAPD Sergeant JASON GARCIA conducted a briefing of the <br />known circumstances surrounding the incident. At the conclusion of the briefing, OCDA <br />Supervising Investigator BRAD TANNER assigned SAPD Investigator JIM GARCIA and me to <br />process the hospital scene. TANNER requested GARCIA and I respond to the Orange County <br />Global Medical Center (OCGMC) Emergency Room, where was located. <br />SCENE <br />The hospital scene was located in Orange County Global Medical Center (OCGMC) <br />Emergency Room (ER), bed 7.
