On 01-20-20 at approximately 2329 hours, Lead FS1 Martinez and I responded to in
the city of Fountain Valley for Crime Scene Investigation on an Officer Involved Shooting during a child mo lestation
invest igation . On arrival, we met with Officer Jimenez who directed us to the crime scene located on th e southeast
end of the complex.
I observed that yellow crime scene tape had been used to secure the exterior perimeter of the crime scene, and red
crime scene tape had been used to secure the interior crime scene. is a ground level apartment with a south facing
entrance and has a south facing patio. I obtained overall photographs of the scene from a position outside of the red
crime scene tape. Photographs were also take n of suspect Mercado as he was being placed in the ambulance for
transport to the hospital.
At approximately 0008 hours we cleared the scene. The photographs of the scene and suspect were uploaded into
DIMS. For further details refer to the crime report.
