On Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at approximately 1535 hours, Santa Ana Police
Investigator SUMMER BEATLEY and I conducted the following audio digital recorded interviews
in the 300 block of South Main Street in the city of Santa Ana:
At approximately 1330 hours, , who is the owner of the bakery, arrived at 312
South Main Street after hearing there was a police incident in front of the bakery.
arrived after the incident had occurred and did not see or hear incident.
is an employee of Med Men, which is a medical marijuana dispensary.
works behind a window, which faced the front door of the business, looking south into the
parking lot, when the door is open. At the time of the contact, the door to the business was
standing open. was working when she heard one siren, then a second siren, and after
the third siren she realized the police were stopping right outside the business on Main Street.

went outside to see what was going on, and saw several people taking videos and
standing around watching. She saw four police cars lined up across Main Street and four more
police cars behind them. The police cars were focused on a white pick-up truck. She saw a
police officer putting on a shield and then she heard 7-10 gunshots. Once she heard the
gunshots, she quickly went inside the business. She did not see anyone inside the pick-up truck
and she did not see anyone get out of the pick-up truck.
showed me the monitor of the business’ surveillance cameras through her
window. One camera view monitors the lobby. The second camera faces southbound and
covers the outside of the front door and parking lot area. The third camera faces westbound
and covers the parking lot west of the front door, and the fourth camera was an interior camera
of the interior of the business. There was one camera on the building which appeared to face
northbound on Main Street and appeared to be different than the cameras that belong to Med
Men. According to that camera does not belong to her business and the monitor I
viewed had no view of Main Street. The remaining businesses in that structure were vacant.

is the owner of Lucky Guys Burgers. Lucky Guys Burgers is located on
the southeast corner of Main Street and Chestnut Avenue. was in the back, but
several employees told him to come out to see what was going on. He walked to the front of
the business and saw several police cars that had stopped a car, but he could not see the car

that they were focused on because he was too far back. He saw several officers with their guns
out, pointing north on Main Street. One police officer was on top of his police car, and another
officer, who he described as a sniper, got out of his car with a shotgun and went to a position
near a van, in the parking lot of the bakery. He saw other officers with their shotguns out. The
police talked to the subject for about 30-40 minutes, but could not hear what
they were saying. Then he heard 5-6 gunshots. did not see or hear anything
else.
I asked about the surveillance cameras on the outside of his business.
The cameras only capture up to the sidewalk of the north side of the business and did not
capture the incident.

is an employee at the business. He was at his desk with a customer when he
thought there was possibly an accident outside. He looked out a small window facing south
and he saw someone standing by the tree. pointed to the bakery to show me the view
from the window. saw the “person” by the tree looking at a truck on the street.
sat down to continue with his client, and he heard loud gunshots for 2-3 seconds. He
did not know how many gunshots he heard, and did not see or hear anything else.
is an employee at the business. She was in the bathroom at the time of the
incident. As she came out of the bathroom, she saw people around asking what just happened

because there was a lot of noise. She went back towards the bathroom and stayed in that area
because she thought it was safer. did not see or hear anything.
works a small concession stand inside the back area of the business. Her
work station faces west towards the rear parking lot of Acapulco Travel and Tours.
was not working at the time of the incident. She arrived for work at 1600 hours, and did not
see or hear any part of the incident.
