The following interview was audio digitally recorded: On March 11, 2015, at approximately 1245 hours, was sitting inside her apartment when she heard someone yelling, “Put down the gun.” She looked out the window adjacent to their balcony, towards Main Street, and saw police officers attempting get vehicles in the roadway to leave the area. saw a white pick-up truck stopped in the roadway of northbound Main Street, with police officers standing outside their cars, pointing guns at the suspect, later identified as BENITO OSORIO. Officers were yelling commands, “Put it down, drop the weapon, it’s not worth it”, repeatedly in both English and Spanish. exited her apartment and went out onto the balcony overlooking Main Street. Officers were still yelling at OSORIO to put the gun down. She then heard an officer say, “He’s got it to his head.” Immediately after this, heard the sound of a single gunshot from inside the truck and stated that the suspect had shot himself. OSORIO raised his arm one more time from a seated position within his truck and officers opened fire on him. said that an officer went to the truck, opened the driver door and pulled OSORIO out of the truck onto the street and called for paramedics. believed that OSORIO was shot by police while still seated in his vehicle. took nine cellular telephone photographs of the scene following the officer involved shooting. Most of the photographs depicted SAPD officers and fire personnel rendering medical aid to OSORIO. I provided with my business card and email address so she could email the photographs to me. I received the photographs on March 11, 2015, and later downloaded them to a CD-R.
