The following <br />interview was audio digitally recorded: <br />On March 11, 2015, at approximately 1300 hours, was standing on the upper <br />level balcony of his apartment building watering plants, when he saw a white pick-up truck stop in <br />the roadway on South Main Street facing northbound, with several Santa Ana Police Department <br />(SAPD) cars stopped behind it. The suspect vehicle initially stopped in the roadway due to traffic <br />stopped in front of it. SAPD officers were able to clear the other vehicles from the area; however <br />the suspect made no attempt to drive his vehicle away. heard officers yelling <br />commands multiple times to, “Put down the gun” in both Spanish and English. saw one <br />officer take a position of cover behind a tree directly across Main Street, pointing a rifle at the <br />ORANGE COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE <br />BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION <br />INTERVIEW REPORT
