HomeMy WebLinkAboutSupplement Incident 2023-07962.020 Taroy, David 3756_RedactedOn Friday, April 7, 2023 at approximately 1841 hours, Officer D. Bland #3753 and I responded to the area of Bishop
St. and Rosewood Ave. reference an Officer Involved Shooting. During my involvement, my department issued body
worn camera was activated recording all contact; the footage was later downloaded. Any breaks in my BWC footage
was a result of conferring with my partner(s) reference the investigation.
Officer Bland and I were tasked with blocking westbound traffic Bishop St. from Shelton St. We arrived at
approximately 1850 hours. Upon our arrival, we were tasked with conducting an area check for the potential suspect.
We located a male subject being medically treated by other officers on Shelton St. north of Bishop St.
I blocked off northbound traffic with police tape at Shelton St. and Camille St.
The Orange County Fire Authority arrived to treat the male subject. CARE Ambulance arrived to transport him to
Orange County Global Medical Center. I rode in the ambulance while Officer Bland followed behind the ambulance in
our police vehicle.
Upon our arrival to OC Global Medical Center, medical staff treated the male subject and placed him in Trauma Room
#2. The male subject was placed under the care of . handed me a bullet fragment in a
sealed plastic cup from the male subject's body, which I took into my custody. He was later transferred to room #420. I
then gave the bullet fragment to OC District Attorney Investigator T. Toth at approximately 1123 hours.
At approximately 0123 hours on Saturday, April 8, 2023, Officer J. Biebrich #3570 and Officer M. Marignoli #3858
relieved us from the hospital
This concludes my involvement in the investigation.
