On October 22, 2012, at approximately 2240 hours, Orange County District Attorney
Supervising Investigator RON SEMAN contacted me regarding an officer involved shooting
involving the Santa Ana Police Department. SEMAN requested I respond to the area of 500
West Walnut Street, in the city of Santa Ana, to assist with the investigation.
I arrived on scene at approximately 2340 hours and met with investigators from the
Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) and the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD),
who were present to assist with the investigation.
At approximately 0037 hours, SAPD Sergeant JIM ARMSTRONG conducted a briefing
regarding the known circumstances of the incident for the personnel involved in the
investigation.
Following the briefing, OCDA Supervising Investigator RON SEMAN directed me to team
with SAPD Detective GUS MOROYOQUI to conduct a canvass for potential witnesses. Detective
MOROYOQUI translated the interviews into English from Spanish. I conducted the following
audio digital recorded canvass interviews:

said he heard three gunshots and then someone screaming. He did not see
the shooting incident.

REYNOSO and I spoke to , and . They told us in English that
they were asleep in the same room when they awoke to the sound of three gunshots and
someone screaming. They did not see the shooting incident.

On October 31, 2012, at approximately 0615 hours, told me in English that he
was watching a movie with his girlfriend and their five year old son
at approximately 2230 hours when they heard five gunshots. He did not see the
shooting incident.

On December 5, 2012, at approximately 0720 hours, I called cell phone.
told me in English that she was watching a movie with and their 5
year old son when she heard one gunshot. Shortly afterwards, she looked outside her
apartment and saw police units and yellow tape.
