Erickson #238 Approved By: <br />Date of Report: 9/9/13 Date: 10/28/2013 <br />Page 1 of 13 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CASE NAME: GONZALEZ, JESSICA <br />CLASSIFICATION: OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING - FATAL <br />TYPE: CANVASS <br />AGENCY: SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />On Sunday, June 23, 2013, at approximately 0910 hours, Orange County District Attorney <br />Supervising Investigator MARK GUTIERREZ contacted me regarding an officer involved shooting <br />incident involving the Santa Ana Police Department. GUTIERREZ requested I respond to the <br />area of 809 South Townsend Street, in the city of Santa Ana, and assist with the investigation. <br />At approximately 1020 hours, I arrived at the incident location and met with investigators <br />from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and from the Santa Ana Police Department <br />who were present to assist in the investigation. <br />At 1050 hours, Santa Ana Police Sergeant PHIL CRAFT conducted a briefing of the known <br />circumstances surrounding the incident for the personnel involved in the investigation. <br />Following the briefing, GUTIERREZ assigned Santa Ana Police Detective FRANK GOMEZ <br />and me to team up and conduct canvass interviews of potential witnesses. GOMEZ is a certified <br />Spanish interpreter for the Santa Ana Police Department. Many of the people we contacted <br />during our canvass were Spanish speakers.
