Weather and Lighting:
The weather condition at 0800 hours was partly cloudy, slightly windy with a temperature of
approximately 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The weather information was obtained from the AccuWeather
website. At the time of my arrival, 1045 hours, the ground was dry and there was ample lighting
provided by the sun.
Scene:
The scene was located in the east alley of 805 S. Townsend Street, City of Santa Ana, County of
Orange, California. The crime scene was protected by yellow crime scene tape securing the north
portion of the east alley at 701 S. Townsend Street. The south portion of the east alley at 825 S.
Townsend Street was secured by crime scene tape. There was also crime scene tape securing the east
and west sides of the alley. There were Santa Ana Police Officers positioned at the north, south, east and
west perimeters.
The east alley of 805 S. Townsend Street is a two-way, north/south, asphalt paved road. There are no
marked lanes for north/south traffic. The speed limit in the alley is 10mph. Monta Vista A venue is to the
north of the a lley. Monta Vista is a two-way, two-lane, east/west, asphalt paved road with single family
residential homes on the north side and apartment complexes on the south side. The speed limit for

Monta Vista is 25mph. McFadden Avenue is to the south of the alley. McFadden is a two-way, four-lane
(2 lanes for each direction of travel), east/west, asphalt paved road with apartment complexes on the
north side and single family residential homes on the south side.
The east alley of 805 S. Townsend Street had two marked black and white Santa Ana Police Department
Police cars parked along the east side of the alley. The Santa Ana Police cars were parked facing north.
The Santa Ana Police cars were parked in a manner which Police car #880 was the furthest north and
was approximately 2' south of 805 S. Townsend Street garage #1. Santa Ana Police car #854 was
parked directly behind Police car #880.
A plastic gray toy handgun with a black handle was on the asphalt in the east alley of 805 S. Townsend
Street. The toy handgun was on the west side of the alley, approximately 3' south of garage #1. North of
garage #1 also on the west side alley's asphalt was a used syringe which had the needle covered by an
orange cap. The syringe appeared to be related to narcotics, it did not have a sterile appearance as if it
could be used for any medical purposes. Along with the syringe, a pair of Peerless handcuffs and
medical paraphernalia which appeared to be an LV. bag and a breathing bag were on the asphalt. Next to
the syringe, handcuffs and medical paraphernalia was apparent blood on the asphalt.
805 S. Townsend Street has two garage structures in the east alley. The garage structures have a short
driveway which is west from the directional north/south east alley. The garages are numbered #1 -#10.
Garages #1 -#5 are south of the driveway. Garages #6 -#10 are north of the driveway. Some garages
