1. NOMINATIONS FOR SPECIAL SERVICE AWARD TO THE YOUTH AND COMMUNTIY
OF SANTA ANA
Motion made to recognize Lilly Mucarsel of the American Diabetes Association for her
contributions toward a successful health fair promoting diabetes prevention and awareness
in the community.

The Zoo’s Holiday Lights will happen right after the Tierra de Las Pampas Groundbreaking
event.
The Children’s Winter Holiday Party at the Zoo on December 13th was a great success.
netz4Life at El Salvador Park was a great event, stop by and check out the new courts.

Betty Peterson, a former recreation staff member from long ago, passed away. Her funeral
will be on December 18, 2008. Requested to close the meeting in her memory.

Toys for Tots came through this year, but still need more toys for older children as plenty
have been received for children ages 2-4. There are still many orders to fill.
Will be having knee surgery on January 8, 2009 and does not know if attendance at the
January meeting is likely, will depend on progress of recovery.
Merry Christmas to all, have a safe New Year and don’t drink and drive.

The Tierra de Las Pampas Groundbreaking is Friday, December 19, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at
the Santa Ana Zoo.
