Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says he had no immediate details on what led to Sunday morning's encounter in an alley. The woman, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital where she later died. The officers were not injured. Bertagna told the Orange County Register (http://bit.ly/14RBLqy) a handgun was found in the alley, but he didn't know whether it belonged to the woman. The District Attorney's office will investigate the shooting.
