COMMENTS
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Steve McGuigan –
Thanks to Staff for assistance with Relay for Life event this year. Due to changes
imposed by American Cancer Society, there were a few glitches, but staff worked
hard to make things happen.

Jon “Rip” Ribble – Friends of Santa Ana Zoo
This year’s Zoofari event will be on Saturday, August 22nd and the Zoo and the
theme is “Funky Monkey”.
A volunteer recruitment video for the Zoo was produced by a Santa Ana College
student and would be a great thing for the Board to see.

D. Orea
Thanks to all for great presentations.
It was great to be at the Zoo.
J. Hills
Ditto comments above.
Thanks to parks staff, they really are doing a great job throughout the City.
J. Stroud
Thanks to Kent for hosting and for allowing Bindi the Bearcat to visit.
M. Madrid
Is working with Senator Correa’s office and the Youth Senators program, about 60
youth. Trying to bring them to Santa Ana to provide volunteer assistance where
needed in areas of park maintenance. Also have 60 youth through the probation
program ready to help. Could possibly assist with graffiti removal. Will work with
staff on these concepts.
