Really enjoy having the Library under the Agency’s area of responsibility.
Concerned about the City’s budget challenge – it’s not over.
H. Folmar
The Teens will be presenting their annual Haunted House in Room A, October 27 and 28,
from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
M. Lopez
City is working on the State’s Model Landscape ordinance, trying to meet the January 2010
deadline toward water conservation efforts.
Water-conserving landscaping will be installed in the Civic Center area, between the Law
Library and the State building.
The City’s three largest parks (Thornton/Griset/Centennial) will go to a reclaimed water
irrigation system soon.
K. Yamaguchi
Boo at the Zoo has been very successful. The final evening will be October 30.
The movie filmed at the Zoo last summer, “Old Dogs” with John Travolta and Robin
Williams, will be released in November. Most of the shots on the trailers currently being
aired were scenes filmed at the Zoo.
Anteaters will be moved into their new holding area of the Tierra de las Pampas exhibit in
November. They will not have access to the exhibit area until the landscaping has been
established, hopefully by Jan/Feb. There will be a grand opening in April, but you may get a
sneak peak at them if you ride the train as it goes right through the exhibit.
