On the above date and time, Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) Detective CLINT
ACHZIGER and I conducted an audio digital recorded interview of in
reference to the officer involved shooting of HANS KEVIN ARELLANO. The following is a
summary of the interview:
On Tuesday, July 30, 2013, received a cellular telephone call from his
girlfriend; , as she sat inside Jugo’s La Tropicana restaurant, 622
South Harbor Boulevard, Santa Ana. estimated he received the call from
at approximately 1600 to 1620 hours, even though I explained to him the incident occurred
approximately an hour earlier. ACHZIGER received permission from , to look at his

cellular telephone’s recent call history. The earliest in-coming telephone call from for
that day was at 1545 hours.
said during his telephone conversation with , he heard yelling then
a loud noise. He couldn’t tell if it was a male or female that was yelling and he couldn’t make
out what they were yelling, because it was inaudible.
After the loud noise, appeared to be in shock and started crying.
regained her composure and told him, a “guy” entered the restaurant, a police officer arrived,
the “guy” had his hands in his pockets, and the police officer shot him.
said that was not providing information to him about the incident
as it was on going. told him about the shooting incident afterwards.
