Dear Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, and Councilmembers, I am writing regarding Item#23 on the June 2, 2026, council agenda. As the owner of an historic property in downtown Santa Ana and a concerned citizen, I urge you to continue funding the Historic Resources Commission (HRC)or, at minimum, make a formal provision to reinstate the commission as soon as the budget permits. The HRC is a model achievement that was a key factor in my family's decision to invest in this community. It provides specialized expertise that differs significantly from other commissions, uniquely supporting the General Plan's Historic Element. Its work is essential to protecting the designated buildings, neighborhoods, and landmarks that define our city's architectural integrity and rich, multicultural history. Thank you for your time and for your dedication to preserving Santa Ana's heritage. Hello I am a resident in Santa Ana and I am reaching out regarding an ongoing parking issue on my street that has become extremely frustrating and disruptive. I make an effort to follow all parking rules, including avoiding red curb areas, even when it means spending 25-30 minutes searching for parking everyday. However, there are consistently vehicles parking right up against my car or within the red curb zone near my residence to make it seem they are not on red. This happens repeatedly, and it appears there is little to no enforcement. Because of this, I am sometimes unable to safely exit my parking space in the mornings when I need to leave for work. It creates a very tight and unsafe situation, and at times I feel completely blocked in. It is very frustrating to follow the rules and go out of my way to park legally, while others repeatedly ignore them without consequence. This ongoing issue is affecting my daily routine and quality of life. I am requesting that the city please evaluate this area for possible solutions, such as extending the red curb, repainting it for better visibility, or increasing parking enforcement or placing a permanent pole or cone where residents can't park beyond that. I would appreciate any assistance or guidance you can provide. I am happy to provide photos or additional details. Thank you ! Sincerely, Andrea Pine & Cypress ( cross streets) i Picture info: - image2 ( that's my car parked on a parking spot that is available and valid to park in - the car in front of looks like its also parked on a parking spot - image 0 ( i pull back and what you see clearly is that the car is on the red line, but you do not see it because these cars get as close to you to make it seem they are following all rules and regulations) - image 1 ( on the opposite side is the same thing the car is close to the other one making it seem it's actually parked in a valid space and close it enough ) Thank you , I would just like for the city to help our neighborhood with this issue since I've seen it a lot and things are getting out of proportion. Fellow residents are no longer following expectations and there is no support in the area and I would like to see consistency so it can make a better difference. z .s J t x- oft if' FlEN f.
