I'm told the self checkout at Albertsons on 17th st was told they could only have three self checkout units, I'd like to
know why you are involved in a private business dictating how the should run their company, you cock
suckers have created long lines because of how they are staffed. You are putting undue stress on the employees, an
example is the morning they have just one person running an actual register so if there's an issue with the self checking
the person needs to leave their line full of customers to go help with self checkout issues.The register line is ridiculously
long at 8:00 in the morning. Why would you be involved with something like a self checkout at a privately run
business. You need to focus on reporting illegals roaming the city and homeless people begging at the gas
station,grocery store in the middle mediums of the streets not a god dam grocery store. All come to the next council
meeting to talk with you pathetic in person, how fun will this be.

I am honored to share some exciting news with all of you.
I have been selected as a 2026-2027 California Arts Council Individual Artist Fellow—Legacy Artist, the highest
fellowship tier awarded through the California Arts Council's Individual Artist Fellowship program.The$50,000
unrestricted fellowship recognizes artists whose sustained body of work has made a significant contribution to
California's arts and cultural landscape. I am deeply humbled that my work over the past two decades—uplifting the
stories of immigrants,women,working families, and other historically underrepresented voices through community-
engaged art—has been recognized in this way.
This recognition is especially meaningful because my journey has never been easy. As a former undocumented child, I
dreamed of going to college and becoming an artist, but I did not have the privilege of a formal arts education. Instead,
my classroom became my community—organizers, elders, artists, immigrants, nature, and the community of Santa Ana.
That experience profoundly shaped how I understand belonging,visibility, resilience and the role art can play in
strengthening communities.
I am also deeply honored to be recognized alongside such an extraordinary group of artists from across California. In
Orange County, only two artists were selected as Legacy Artist Fellows,the program's highest and most competitive
fellowship tier, and I am incredibly proud to represent Santa Ana through this statewide recognition.This year, 54 artists
were selected across Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties from a pool of 328 applicants following a rigorous

the Voice of OC about
Newport Beach Eyes Stricter Laws After 400 Arrested in Fourth of July Chaos
which associated with social media of those came from the other states
"According to preliminary booking data included with the press release, the vast
majority of arrests were people that came from outside Newport Beach with
nearly half coming from Arizona and Nevada."
Approximately 96% of those arrested had traveled to Newport Beach from
another place, according to the press release. More than 70% of those arrested
were between the ages of 18 and 25, and another 20% were between the ages of
13 and 17.
The Arrests: The 439 arrests mark a massive spike from the 60 arrests during the
same holiday weekend in 2025.Demographics: City data shows - 96% of those
arrested or cited were not local. More than 70% were aged 18-25, and - 20% were
minors. The Chaos: Crowds blocked emergency routes, set fires, hurled
explosives at police, and looted a Pavilions grocery store, prompting a massive
mutual-aid response from 17 regional agencies

The largest school districts in the country, led by the recent resolution passed by
LA Unified School District, are starting to move on classroom screen time --
setting hard grade-level limits, blocking YouTube and gaming platforms on school
devices, eliminating devices for the youngest students, and requiring weekly
screen reports to parents.
This isn't happening because administrators woke up and decided to act. It's
happening because parents organized, showed up, and made it impossible to
ignore.
Your school board has the same authority right now. They do not need to wait for
state guidance or federal standards. Dozens of districts have already acted. What
they need to hear is that their own community is paying attention and expects
them to lead.

We are writing to urge Orange County School Districts to take bold action on the
growing crisis of excessive screen time in our schools.
Children in America already spend an average of nine hours per day on screens
outside of school. Rather than counterbalancing this trend, many districts have
unintentionally compounded it through unchecked use of classroom devices, 1:1
device programs, and EdTech platforms with little accountability. The American
Academy of Pediatrics has linked excessive screen time to vision problems,
anxiety, depression, addictive behavior, reduced attention span, and lower
academic achievement. This is not a future risk. It is happening to our children
now.
We were encouraged to see Los Angeles Unified School District -- the second-
largest school district in the nation -- pass a landmark resolution in early 2026
committing to a formal Screen Time Policy with specific, enforceable limits.
LAUSD's leadership demonstrates that districts of any size can take meaningful

My family and I were at newport dunes for the fireworks this past 4th of July. We were followed to our car by a man
who was yelling about a ceaaepool and saying' F-You, ill F you up!!'
We dont have a tiktok and had no idea about the takeover down by the beach but we were screamed at and followed
and honked at while trying to leave.These behaviors made our children leave in tears ans we want to encourage a zero
tolerance for bully tyoe behabior in orange county and to help ciitzens to stay safe on every day!

Hi my name is Tee and I am a community member in the OC region.The topic i wanted to discuss is eliminating
organized violence disruption and hateful crimes within the cities to increase safety for all.
To make a difference well need transparency, individual commitment, community action, and a willingness from city
council members to take proper steps where needed. I have noted that nearby cities been experiencing an issue of
organized disruptive actions that causes community discord and disunity.
We think that organized groups choose to use agitation, harassment, and threatening behavior against innocent citizen
members to accomplish their own endgoals.
My family didn't do anything to anyone to deserve this treatment yet throughout all hours of the day/night demeaning
phrases are yelled our. While trying to promote safety we've made reports to the a specific police department and
reports have been rejected.
This behavior is concerning and needs to be addressed.Tons of people in the community do not appreciate this type of
bullying behavior and threats should not be tolerated. Also, Discrimination for disability,familiar status ethnicity or of
any kind should not be accepted. I hope that my transparency will help the city to take the measures it needs to keep
the people safe.
