Thorn are four different mobile Dome programs : N~obile Home ~ardsh~.p Forg~.vable Loan Program., Federal Empowerment done Forgivable Loan Program, ~al~o~ne 1~obile dome Rehab Loan Program, and CalHome Replacement Loan Program. The dousing Divis~.on reviews applications to determine which program best fits the needs of the applicants, Applications are mailed out and received for these programs on a cantinuig ba~.s. chart 1 shows the number of applicat~.ons sent out by type this f~,scal year . Loan [~nderwritir~g and Approval Process ~n this process, staff reviews applicant eligibility, verifies ~.r~come and assets, oversees underwriting, conducts an inspect~.on of the unit, and prepares a wor]~ write up to determine rehabilitation work to e performed. Due to the complex funding requirements, applica.ts may be in underwriting as long as several months . ~t i largely deter~.ned by the applicant's ub~.ittal~ of the necessary paperwork. once approved, -.;...staff prepares all necessary loan documents, makes arrangements for execution, and reserves the required loan funds. A total of six single family loans and eight mobile home rehab loans have been approved in the fiscal gear to date. As of tuner the principal balance was $5~,487r~81 million. This is comprised of 4~7 loans of wh~.ch ~8 were deferred or residual receipts payment loans. Approval of the conceptual site plan is expected in June DOS with formal site plan review expected in September, Appro~ral of ent~.tleents is planned far the winter of 2~~8 with the can~encement of construction in the spring of ~0~9. The buildings contain ~ total of ~1 one bedroom ~p~~tent units, 50 of which ire restricted to occupancy by very low-income households. The remaining unit i reserved for ~n onsite manager. The acquisition of 7~1 and 709 To~nsend was completed on February ~, 20oS, and the rehabilitation work has begun, The estimated completion date for these buildings is December 2008. the aquisitian of 817 and 821 Rant and $4 . Rant was completed an May 1~, 2~~8, end the reh~bilitatian work his not yet begun. The etited completion date for these buildings is May 2~~9. There i one unit that will be used as a community tenter with ~idsworks as the service provider. ilhirelMinnie :~ ~n December 18, 200, the pity council and community Redevelopment ~~-:agency approved financing for the acquisition and reh~bilit~tion of 17 apartment buildings on Wilshire end Minnie Streets. The original 1~~ units were to be converted into 144 one, two, three and four-bedroom units, with 14 of the units restricted to low end very low-income households. The remaining unit is reserved for an onsite ~~nager. The rehabilitation of six buildings his been completed and they ire being leased in accordance with the affordability restrictions. Tho developer is marketing this av~il~ble workforce housing to the surrounding businesses end through the re~te Santa Ana Business Alli~noe. The entire project i scheduled to be completed by March 2009. McFadden~Or~nge Staff is currently negotiating the development of two parcels ~t the cornea of McFadden and Orange with The Sion Education and Housing Foundation. This i a pilot project with an innovative approach for building homes in an expedited and efficient manner with below market construction costs. Staff anticipates bringing ~ DDA to the Redevelopment Agency in August 20x8. Birch Infill Project the Logan infill project consists of four vacant lots located at the X00 and 400 blocks of Birch in the Heniner Park Neighborhood.
