Pursuant to the Brown Act, the February 11, 2008 Agenda for the Regular
Meeting was posted on the door of the City Hall Council Chambers at 22 Civic
Center Plaza on February 7, 2008 at 3:02 p.m.

Filed by Maurice Mora, to permit an exterior modification to repair and replace
windows in the Specific Development No. 19 (French Park) zoning district at 820
North Garfield Street.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a resolution approving Neighborhood Project Review No. 2007-19.
Commissioner Betancourt abstained due to living in close proximity to the
property.

PUBLIC HEARINGS
1. VARIANCE NO. 2008-01
Filed by Johnson Chapel AME Church, to allow a reduction in setbacks for a new
family life center in the Community Commercial (C1) zoning district for the
property at 1309 West Second Street.

Adopt a resolution approving Variance No. 2008-01 as conditioned.
Senior Planner Vince Fregoso provided the staff report and recommendation.

Commissioner Betancourt
• Commented on the landscaping for the retail development site ai
Grand/17th and asked staff to verify compliance with the approved plans.
Marvin Ellenbecker provided information.
Commissioner Mill
• Commented on positive feedback from the Logan Neighborhood during
the Renaissance Plan meeting and encouraged commissioners to attend
the meetings.

Chair Leo
• Expressed concerns with landscape, parking and traffic at the Grand/17th
retail site.
• Reminded commissioners to return the Form 700 to the Clerk of the
Council as soon as possible.
5. Excuse of Absences
Commissioner Betancourt motioned to excuse the absence of Commissioner De
La Torre. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Munoz and unanimously
approved by the Commission.
