RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the minutes of the regular meeting of April 9, 2007.
B. RECORDING SECRETARY REPORT
Pursuant to the Brown Act, the April 9, 2007 Agenda for the Regular Meeting was
posted on the door of the City Hall Council Chambers at 22 Civic Center Plaza
on April 5, 2007 at 2:24 p.m.
RECOMMENDATION:
Instruct the Commission Secretary to enter posting into the minutes.

C. COMMISSIONER COMMUNICATION DISCLOSURE (REGARDING AGENDIZED
PROJECTS)

D. NEIGHBORHOOD PROJECT REVIEW N0.2007-02
Filed by Macaria Overby, to allow the sliding window replacement to an existing
duplex in the Heninger Park zoning district (SD-40) for the properties at 905 and
907 South Van Ness Avenue.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a resolution denying Neighborhood Project Review No. 2007-02.
MOTION: Continue the public hearing to May 14, 2007 for Neighborhood Project
Review No. 2007-02. After reviewing the staff report, plans, and public comments
from the applicant, the Planning Commission indicated that there were two issues
to be resolved before a final determination could be made; relationship of the
subject property's window material to its surrounding neighbors and possible
financial assistance for the applicant to rehabilitate their home.

street intersection for a new childcare center located at 801 East First Street.

RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a resolution approving Variance No. 2007-04 as conditioned.
Assistant Planner Carlos Rodriguez presented the staff report and
recommendation.
Commission discussion ensued regarding exit and entrance markings, site
parking; and consideration for crosswalk.
The public hearing was opened.
Randy Dettmer spoke in support of the project and stated that crosswalks would
not be installed.
The public hearing was closed.

4. Staff Comments
Chief Assistant City Attorney Ben Kaufman presented commissioner pins on
behalf of the Clerk of the Council, Pat Healy, for completion of the
commissioner's training session.
Planning Manager Haluza stated the filing period for Metro East Mixed Used
Overlay Zone expired and no legal challenges were filed.
